8 participants will join us for this magical 4-day workshop exploring the transformative power of sound and music, silence, sacred sonic space, and beyond. This compelling adventure is open to anyone with the thirst to tap deeper into the essence of our sonic birthright, embracing sound, music, and silence as a daily tool for well-being and enhancing our personal creative pathways.
We will explore spontaneous music making, extended live journey concerts, mantras, and sacred chants.
Bringing all of this together at points along the way will be integrative horse experiences that exercise mindfulness, deep peace, nonverbal communication, and a spirituality that allows people to fluidly move between a grounded, earthy existence and other worlds of creativity and possibility.
No previous horse experience or musical experience is necessary, only a desire to expand your horizons, access untapped talent and potential, and, perhaps most importantly, enjoy life more fully.
Intention: In this workshop, you will discover and practice ways to
- Facilitate creative expression in all aspects of your work and life
- Deepen and expand the connection to sound and music as a daily essential experience
- Create sonic sacred space together
- Connect to the inner wisdom/inner teacher through sound
- Explore the process of creating sacred and ambient music at home, regardless of experience
- Learn about ancient wisdom traditions that use music for healing and transformation
- Immerse yourself in the expanded awareness and deep peace that horses experience naturally
- Access “interpersonal mindfulness,” a rarefied state that allows you to collaborate with others more deeply and effectively
Peak audience: People wanting to activate and open up to the direct experience of sound, music, and stillness, individually and in groups where everyone is heard, respected, and uplifted. This is about opening your personal creative currents regardless of skill level or former experience with sound or music. It’s about stepping into the vast potential of sound and music, activating, inspiring, and infusing the mythic imagination.
While the facilitators have a variety of techniques, perspectives, and activities to share, Steve, Serena and Linda will shape the workshop offerings based on how individual and group needs, interests and talents unfold and coalesce throughout this four-day journey.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation up to 30 days prior to the event start date results in a credit of one-half the workshop tuition. There is no tuition credit for a cancellation 30 days or less before the event start date.
Linda Kohanov is an internationally-recognized author, musician, music critic, speaker, and horse trainer. She is a pioneer in the field of Equine-Facilitated Learning, where gentle yet powerful activities with horses on the ground are employed to teach advanced human development skills, including emotional and social intelligence, creativity, nonverbal communication, personal empowerment and relationship skills. In 1997, she founded an Arizona-based collective of horse professionals, educators, coaches, and mental health professionals exploring the healing potential of the horse-human bond. That organization, now called Eponaquest Worldwide, has grown to serve clients on six continents. Her first bestselling book The Tao of Equus was selected as one of the top Spirituality books of 2001 by Amazon.com and received appreciative reviews in publications as diverse as IONS Noetic Sciences Review, Spirituality and Health, Horse and Rider, and Strides. Four more titles followed, with her books translated into French, German, Dutch, and Czech. While Linda often works with horses to teach people advanced human development skills, she also has a gift for helping people take “horse wisdom” into the home, the workplace, schools, and other human environments, offering equine-inspired insights on leadership, nonverbal communication, creativity, spirituality, authenticity, healing, and balance. She has a degree in music, and brings extensive experience as a violist and respected writer on the spiritual and mystical power of sound to this workshop.
